Grand Priory of Austria unveils its extensive work on Diabetes (September 2012)
In the 4th quarter of 2012 the Grand Priory of Austria sets its main focus on 'Diabetes'.
Different events are planned around the "World Diabetes Day" in November to be held in Vienna. This year the theme is "Diabetes - Education and Prevention". So there will be information about the prevention of - and living with - diabetes, like general health topics and special diet and food tips. A special event will cover homeless people who struggle to find the diabetic supplies they need to manage their diabetic needs.
World Diabetes Day is the primary global awareness campaign and is held on November 14 of each year. It was introduced in 1991 by the International Diabetes Federation and the World Health Organization in response to the alarming rise of diabetes around the world.
The Grand Priory of Austria has also launched on its new website a number of important news to support activities in the context with the "World Diabetes Day 2012".
At the moment visitors can calculate their BMI, take a self test about their diabetes risk or read information about the topic.
Over the next 3 months more useful tips & health advice and initiatives like recipes, prevention and announcements of events will be published on the Austrian GP web page.
