Virginia Commandery embarks on Free Crisis Assistance Centre (December 2014)
By means of a very visible campaign organised together with the The Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD), the Commandery of Virginia under the US Grand Priory organised the first in a series of outreach programs entitled 'Spreading the Word Spreads Help.'
"Our goal within The Virginia Commandery is to help reduce suffering," said Rene' White, one of the Officers of the Commandery. "'Spreading the Word Spreads Help' to those who need it. If you share this, and everyone shares this, we could reach everyone who needs help."
Crisis assistance for heating emergencies is available free by the central authorities and varies state by state. However, those most in need of such aid seldom find any form of assistance in relation to the various schemes on offer, the application deadlines and who to refer to so as to be assessed and assisted for crisis assistance. By means of this project, the Commandery will be aiding and assisting those in most need in matters related to Social Services, heating emergencies, equipment needed, heating fuel and utility bills, repairs and maintenance, energy efficiency and air filtration and other crisis emergencies.
