The Investiture Dinner of the Grand Priory of the United States: September 2014
The setup and organisation of the event were the inevitable domain of Dame Karen Cantrell aided and assisted by Chevalier Joseph Luna. The end result was next to perfect. A job superbly done to the last detail.
The annual, traditional investiture dinner of the US Grand Priory was held at the main ballroom of the Marriott Hotel in Riverside. Veterans of the Order in the States mixed and mingled with the newly inducted postulants and their guests in what turned out to be a great investiture dinner. The Chancellor of the US Grand Priory, as is the norm, utilized this national meeting to update and inform the members of the Grand Priory's 501C3 status and accounts and the collections generated during the investiture dinner surpassed the USD 5,000 mark yet again. The food was delicious and the guests were treated to an emotional update of the Order's philanthropic work in the United States during the year 2014. Yet again, all the members of the US Grand Priory received a personalised letter from the White House and a certificate signed by US President Obama due to their automatic receipt of the President's Volunteer Service Award, for work done by the US Grand Priory within the community.
