The Commandery of Gozo resigns from Military Order and joins the United Grand Priories (September 2013)

Important Announcement:

As of today the 9th of September 2013, the Council of the Gozo Commandery - formerly under the jurisdiction of the UK limited liability company trading under the name of the Military and Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem, and under the Grand Master Don Carlos Gereda de Borbon Marquis de Almazan - has unanimously voted to join, with all its present members, the United Grand Priories of the Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem.

We welcome all the officers and members of the Commandery within our international Lazarite Confraternity and augur them real Hospitaller work devoid of irrational and interpolated hindrance. This is the second grouping of such a nature which has unanimously chosen to join our chivalric organisation in these last weeks.
Whilst re-affirming our witnessed pledge given years ago that our chivalric organisation will never resort to poaching and/or canvassing for other members who are active within other Lazarite organisations, one has to note that the United Grand Priories of the Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus continues on its policy to work in harmony with any Lazarite organisation and/or jurisdiction which has Hospitaller work as its primary raison d'etre.

Although surely imperfect, the United Grand Priories has witnessed an unparalleled upsurge in membership and commitment in these last years which has made it one of the leading Lazarite organisations worldwide, with membership numbers that totally dwarf similar operations. Our pledge to continue working in amity with all bona fide Lazarite organisations worldwide stands and is reaping the fruits of such a commitment.
