St. Lazarus Foundation Chairman appointed as President of the National Association for Supported Employment (September 2015)
We are pleased to announce that our Grand Chancellor and Chairman of the Saint Lazarus Foundation has been unanimously appointed as President of the Malta Association for Supported Employment by the latter's Council. MASE is the national association of public/parastatal entities and registered NGOs who operate in the social field, especially with vulnerable persons from all walks of life in Malta and Gozo.
Dr. Massimo Ellul has been in the forefront of implementing supported employment services nationwide, and earlier this year, together with the Honorable Minister for the Family and Social Solidarity, oversaw the first professional and nationwide supported employment program being inaugurated. The Saint Lazarus Foundation has been offering, free of charge, supported employment services to the vulnerable for these past four years by means of the Believe in Me project headed by our Confrere Kenneth Cremona Caruana. This was done on a voluntary basis. Under Dr. Ellul's watch, supported employment is now a national government policy, ensuring professional social assistance and support to all vulnerable persons in this sector of social initiatives. Congrats and keep up the good work.
