Puerto Rico: Public Health Screening Campaign (November 2018)
The Priory of Puerto Rico has been active in the field of Hospitaller care for many a year. With its dedicated team of volunteer medical doctors, nurses and other health care specialists, the Priory has been in the forefront of offering free medical care and attention to impoverished regions in the island. Their Hospitaller work is evident not only on their home island but also throughout the Caribbean by means of the constant synergy initiatives that the Prior of Puerto Rico, the Chevalier Benjamin Angueiras (seen above at the far left corner of the picture) coordinates with other jurisdictions of the region within the international Lazarite confraternity.
During the month of November 2018, a number of public health screening initiatives were executed in order to practically assist areas which have been deeply hit with the geographic and meteorological calamities that have hit the region.
Additional discussions with the country’s officials have taken place in order to further accelerate aid by this active Priory to those in need. These discussions also involved the participation of our Chev. Charles McWilliams, the Head of the Sacred Medical Order of the Knights of Hope; the latter being a fully-fledged member of the United Grand Priories and very active in the region.
