Pledging an Ambulance Donation for the Special Rescue Group at the International Lazarite Symposium (April 2016)
As reported in the extensive picture gallery appended to the sub-chapter 'Investitures' under 'News and Information', entitled 'Investiture at the Sacra Infermeria of the Knights of Malta: April 2012', the United Grand Priories pledged an ambulance, by means of a series of donations to be given to the Special Rescue Group - St. Lazarus Corps, the latter being one of the new institutions which have joined the United Grand Priories in the hugely successful International Lazarite Symposium which was held at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta.
When institutions and chivalric organizations join the United Grand Priories, their representatives swear fealty to the Grand Officers of the United Grand Priories and have the same responsibilities as Grand Priories of jurisdictions of the Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem, including strict governance and transparency rules. They have to register their organizations according to the laws of the land from where they operate; they have to send in annual reports of their Hospitaller work and charitable/philanthropic donations and abide by the relevant bye-laws and decrees which the United Grand Priories issue from time to time.
This year marks the 21st anniversary of the Special Rescue Group - St. Lazarus Corps and we augur success and further milestone to the officers and members of this Group.
