The Order of Saint Lazarus, by means of donations from its US Grand Priory, has continued its financial assistance to the Indonesian voluntary organisation PPCI in Nusa Tenggara Timor (NTT).
The PPCI has undertaken further work from the proceeds of the previous donation granted by HOSLJ towards their Hospitaller work in Nusa Tenggara Timor, Indonesia. Recently, the Council Members of PPCI NTT have provided physical, financial and material aid to a group of children in the interior district of Belu in the form of much-needed food items and also catering skills empowerment in order to contribute towards their nutritional needs.
In Belu, close to 40 youths and children having various levels of disabilities and special needs were also given support. These children are polio victims and also suffer from various ailments including paralysis, limited mobility, etc.
In the capital city of NTT – Kupang, aid was also given to a few adult members to support their start towards some simple entrepreneurial activities to support themselves. Some financial support were given for them to continue with their small enterprises such as selling simple snack food items.
