The Saint Lazarus Foundation teamed up with the Zebbug Local Council on the 24th of November 2013 and organised a well-attended fun run/walk in aid of the Puttinu Cares Foundation which takes care of patients, especially children, who are suffering from various forms of cancers and need treatment outside the country.

The event started with the registration of more than 100 participants, who endured (for some) the sacrifice of running/walking from the city of Rabat to the city of Zebbug. More than 500 Euros were collected for the cause in question. A contingent of children with special needs also participated in this event.

The Mayor of the City of Zebbug, together with a number of Councillors participated in the event. Free drink and fruit and an attendance certificate was given to each participant and the half day event was indeed a huge success with a lively atmosphere from start to finish.

The Honorable Minister of Health, Dr. Godfrey Farrugia MP, was waiting for the participants at the finishing line and congratulated the initiative. He promised his very own participation in next year's fun run! Special thanks must also be given to the Special Rescue Group of the Saint Lazarus Corps for their on-site First Aid assistance.
