Renata Mellar is the Chairperson of the Hungarian National Association of the Blind and the Visually Impaired. This 900+ strong national organisation has recently agreed to an alliance and cooperation agreement with the Order's Grand Priory of Hungary and during the month of April 2015, Renata herself was admitted into the Order by the Grand Officers of the Supreme Grand Priory with the grade of Commader of the Order.
The postulant's ritual during Renata's admittance into the Order was performed by the Grand Secretary of the Order, Magistrate Robin Slack, accompanied by the Order's Grand Chancellor and Grand Marshal. The Supreme Grand Prior, H.E. Richard Comyns of Ludston was also present during the ceremony and congratulated Renata on her achievements. The Supreme Grand Prior also commended the Grand Priory of Hungary in its constant commitment to aid and assist the vulnerable, in this case the blind and the partially impaired, by means of its various Hospitaller initiatives throughout the country.
