Grand Priory of Hungary - World Record Attempt & Charity for the Children (December 2013)
On the 6th of December the Hungarian Grand Priory of the Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem was part of a World Record attempt which was held at Budapest Airport. Sinka "Popeye" Zsolt Eromuvesz pulled a 40 ton Rosenbauer Panther airport fire fighter truck with his teeth. The Hungarian Grand Priory got involved because one of our members offered an extensive amount of money for the children in need, which were the beneficiaries of this particular event. Lots of kids gathered on that day on the airport and supported the World Record attempt.
When the record was beaten the collected amount, together with the presents were given to the kids. The press, distinguished guests and other members of the Order were present during this initiative.
At the end of the day's event, Chev. Dr. Lajos Vigh KLJ, the Grand Prior of Hungary, heartily thanked the popular Hungarian sportsman's contribution for such a charitable cause and informed Sinka "Popeye" Zsolt that the Knights in Council of the Order had proposed the latter to be awarded the Officer of Merit of the Companionate of Merit of the Order for his efforts and constant aid. This accolade will be given to our Confrere in the next investiture of the Grand Priory of Hungary in April 2014.
