Grand Priory of Brazil - Seminar on Chivalric Orders (October 2013)
The Grand Priory of Brazil, by means of its Academy of Chivalric and Humanitarian Studies and also through the coordinating efforts of the Commandery of Agnus Dei of Rio de Janeiro of the Order of Saint Lazarus, organized a hugely successful seminar on "the Orders of Chivalry in Modern Times".
In the 21st century, there are fortunately quite a substantial amount of chivalric organisations worldwide who still are committed to the chivalric code of bygone years. Due to this specific factor, representatives of three different orders of chivalry presented and debated on the activities and the role of these institutions, almost 1,000 years after the medieval code of chivalry was universally distributed.
The seminar was organised on October 17, 2013 at the Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro. Participation fees were waived, although a donation of 1 kg of non-perishable food was requested, which then was forwarded to a charitable institution in amity with the Grand Priory of Brazil.
