Gozo Grand Priory closes year with safety and first aid services at life size Bethlehem in Ghajnsielem (December 2017)
The Gozo Grand Priory, comprising of the highly active Emergency Response & Rescue Corps, ended the year by means of offering its volunteers at the annual, life size Christmas village of 'Bethlehem in Ghajnsielem'. Every year, thousands of Maltese and Gozitan families, together with tourists from all over, visit this Christmas village during the festive season. ERRC offers first aid and safety officers on site in order to assist should there be the need.
Similarly, throughout December its volunteers and cadets have been stationed throughout the various venues in Gozo and in Malta, due to the amount of festive initiatives offered to the public in the season. Services also include ambulances and medics from ERRC on standby.
During the whole of 2017, ERRC was responsible in administering first aid to around 2000+ persons, including locals and residents. These included divers, swimmers caught in rough seas, boating amateurs in distress, first aid during public events and other situations which needed on-site and instant assistance.
In the meantime, 2017 saw also a spike in training courses organised by the Gozitan Grand Priory, since the ERRC is a registered MQF learning institution in its own right. Courses included Pediatric First Aid, Nautical Courses, moulage casualty training, pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support and other specialised diplomas.
A big well done to the dedicated Gozo team.
