First International Lazarite Symposium (April 2012)

 

The first session of the Lazarite International Symposium with delegates representing 17 different jurisdictions and allied chivalric organizations.

Chevalier the Professor Charles Mac Williams, Grand Master of the Sacred Medical Order of the Knights of Hope, whose Order joined the United Grand Priories of the Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus as a fully fledged member organization, delivering his presentation on the various, tangible Hospitaller work that the Order executes, especially in the South American and African areas.

 

Senator Wolfgang Steinhardt, Commander in Chief of the Union Corps Saint Lazare International, members of the United Grand Priories of the Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem, giving his presentation at the International Lazarite Symposium on the international Lazarite work effected by his chivalric organization.


Chevalier David Zammit, Commander in Chief of the Special Rescue Group Saint Lazarus Corps, giving out his presentation of the SRG's milestones throughout their 21 years of operations. The Special Rescue Group worldwide forms part of the United Grand Priories.

The Day of the Solemn Investiture of the Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem during the International Lazarite Symposium. Three streets were needed in order to execute the march past, as per protocol, of all the Knights and Dames and special guests and delegates for this sacred investiture which was held at the Sacra Infermeria of the Knights of Malta, Malta's biggest indoor area for such an event.

Indeed, this investiture service was the biggest congregation of Lazarite Knights anywhere in the world in these last decades.

The International Lazarite Symposium Investiture - The biggest investiture to be ever executed in these last years anywhere: Donating Euros 2000 to the Kor Mirabitur for their continued research and work in promoting sacred music in Malta.


 

Donating the first instalment of Euros 6,000 which will be given in the next three years to the Fondazzjoni Kenn u Tama (The Hope and Sheltered Foundation) which is based in Gozo and assists women who are victims of domestic violence. The Foundation's premises in Gozo will also be the offices of the Order's Grand Priory of Gozo.


 

The International Lazarite Symposium Investiture - The biggest investiture to be ever executed in these last years anywhere: Donating Euros 1000 to the Basic Society, a Malta Foundation which assists social cases and families in need.

The International Lazarite Symposium Investiture - The biggest investiture to be ever executed in these last years anywhere: Donating an ambulance worth 11,000 Euros to the Special Rescue Group - Saint Lazarus Corps, who work hard in the First Aid sector under the United Grand Priories.
